My bear adventures began when I decided to paint my Dad's childhood bear, 'Ted's Bear' for a Fathers Day present. Having fallen in love with the subject, I was on a quest to paint a whole series of these furry fellows!
The next painting I created was 'Sherlock.' This bear belonged to my Mum and he made the perfect model! When I sold the painting I was reluctant to let it go and I even named our dog after it! So now, instead of the painting I have a Labrador... Hmm...
Anyway, each bear that followed had it's own story and its own reason for being painted. And in each painting there is a subject or object that is connected to me personally.
Each bear also has it's own story painted on the back, along with my signature 'thumb print' which you will find on the reverse of all of my paintings.
There were eight paintings in the series, many of which were featured in 'The Teddy Bear Times Magazine.' And the Finale Bear, 'A Story Untold,' made it on to many global online news networks because of the story behind the bear itself. He was a 100 year old bear who had been abandoned at Bristol Airport. You can read more about this particular bear here.
Some of the originals are still available, but all are available as beautiful Giclee Fine Art Prints on request for £50 each (195 Editions)
And here they are, all special and unique in their own way.
