Just for Fun...

'No Idea'

10 x 8 Oil on Canvas Panel
...I had to chuckle when I titled this particular painting because it was inspired by an episode of Artists block, which occurred during major household renovations; Enough to spiral any woman in to meltdown!

I was so stressed by the destruction and mess I was faced with on a daily basis, that when I finally did find time between epic cleaning sessions to go in to my studio, I had NO IDEA what to paint!

The amount of times I must have said those two words, 'NO IDEA' to myself must have run in to hundreds!
(Actually, if I was being completely honest, it was three words and the real title would be 'No Bloody Idea')...
And then suddenly, the words NO IDEA, gave me...... AN IDEA!!! You could say, I had 'A LIGHT BULB MOMENT!' Hahaha!!

...It was the first time I had ever experienced being inspired by having NO inspiration! That one is totally new to me!

Anyway, this one was just a bit of fun and now the worst of the renovations are over, I have some more serious paintings on the go. So watch this space!

  1. A beautiful title for an outstanding piece!!!! This is SO amazing Sandra! Love it!!!

    1. Thank you Hilda! Titling paintings I find almost as fun as actually painting them! :0)

  2. Hello Sandra,
    a beautiful painting!!!
    A big hug

    1. Thank you so much Antonio!
I'm so glad you like it, though it was just for a bit of fun really.

    2. Of course a light bulb went off in your head. ! Why Not?
LOL ! You always do amazing work.

    3. Thank you so much Barbra! :0)

  3. Its like a brilliant little puzzle - trying to figure out just what I see reflected in the bulb! What a gem, Sandra!

    1. Thank you Susan. To be honest I didn't spend too much time on this as I knew it was just a little fun, but the effect is still quite good... I enjoyed it! :0)

  4. Wonderful piece, and definitely very appropriate! It reminds me of that quote, that inspiration exists but it has to find you working - or in your case, at least show up. You kept going to your studio anyway, and it paid off eventually :)

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Where possible I will respond via email. I really do love to read them! They always make me smile ;0)
