Exibition (and other distractions)...

And... breeeeeath....
The 'Worlington Movement' exhibition, which was held at the Edmund Gallery, Bury St. Edmund's is over!

Window Display

...And a good time was had by all involved.

I could share so many photo's with you, there is so much wall space in there!
In the end I decided that just a few would do...

...And I sold three paintings, which was cool :0)

And before I have even had time to collect my thoughts together, the 2017 exhibition dates have already been set! This one will be held much closer to home, at the Birley Centre in Eastbourne and the details are on my website on the 'Events' page.

So, what now...?

Well, I have had to take a break from the Studio for a couple of weeks because of various other distractions and in fact I'm not going to get back in there for at least another week!
I had planned to do a highly complex large still-life, but I just can't get the reference I'm looking for, so it's back to the drawing board... Literally!

Meanwhile my 'Fish Out of Water' painting made it safely to it's new home on Gozo Island...

...I was so relieved to receive a photo showing it had made it there is one piece!
It's always a fine balance between protecting the painting as much as possible, whilst keeping the weight to the minimum. It's tricky!

One thing I can tell you is that I am going to be painting a lot more LARGE paintings from here on. I have a few new ideas in mind and I'll be playing with those over the next week or so, so I can hopefully get something started when I get back to the Studio.

So in case you thought I'd spontaneously combusted, or been abducted by Aliens, I haven't! I'm still here but I'm taking a break for a bit while I concentrate on getting some more reference material.

Back soon!

  1. Massive congratulations on selling three of your paintings - I love how blasé you're being about it 'yeh that was cool, whatevs!'
That's a shame about your large painting - I was expecting you to post photos of it any day now. I know you don't want to give away what it was actually going to be off but would you be able to get the references you need from the likes of Paint my photo maybe. It seems a shame if you have the idea but can't get the references to carry it out. I'm just in the process of printing off more reference photos at the mo - I get ahead of myself and have a huge pile already but then a new idea comes along and I get swept it in doing that instead! Anyway, I hope you find what you need and get back to the studio soon. x

    1. Thanks so much Nic! No, the problem is it's a vision I have in my own head and I really want it to come from there. I will try again with the photo's but it relies on the place being available, weather being perfect, blah blah... so basically the planets have to align! Instead I have found myself being swepped along with other things and I've ended up with 3 weeks away from the easel! I hate that and I'm itching to get back to it. This weekend I have told Paul I am fully booked in the studio and I'm not going anywhere!! :0)

  2. Congratulations on the sales, Sandra! I wish I could have seen the exhitition. For some reason I have no access to the Worlington Movement website, why is that? Oh and...... happy birthday!!! :)

    1. Thank you so much Judy! That's strange... try copying and pasting this link in to your address bar...
      Hope it works! :0)

  3. Congratulations on your successful exhibit and the wonderful sale of three paintings! So glad your Fish Out of Water safely found their way to a loving home!

  4. Congratulations Sandra!!!!! I'm glad I came back to visit because I thought I commented already! Lol. I would have loved to have seen the exhibit...seeing them in person would have been amazing!!

    1. Thank you so much Hilda! Actually it was so far away that even I couldn't get there, lol! I was sent lots of photo's though which was lovely :0)

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Where possible I will respond via email. I really do love to read them! They always make me smile ;0)
