WIP Complete!!

Finally I have completed my large Marble painting!

'Marble Medley'...

18" x 24" Oil on Stretched Canvas

I have to say, painting them almost made me lose my marbles altogether! There was a lot of concentration involved and my eyes are a little googly right now as a result!

This one was very much inspired by the tin that the marbles came in...

And here is my fabulous assistant, Geoffrey, giving the 18" x 24" painting some scale...

It's one of those paintings that looks really effective when you stand right back and as you move closer, the abstract shapes and brush-marks that make the painting, become more visible.

On to a new one now - another small one. Then another biggie I think!

Hope you're enjoying the my marble series so far!

Happy painting all :0)

  1. Wow, Sandra! Just wow! This is incredible! Your work is getting every more realistic as mine gets ever more impressionistic! I love this. The colours and the reflections - no wonder your eyes went googly at the end of this but totally worth it.

    1. Thanks so much Nic!
It was so nice to be greeted with such an abundance of colour each time I entered the studio. It was a joy to paint! And a hit by the looks of it, so I'm chuffed!

  2. by the way, what size is Geoffrey because I thought the painting was a lot smaller than it is (until I googled your inches into cms!) He must be quite big!

    1. Hi Nic
Geoffrey is a whopping 34cms/13.4" tall. I have to say 'whopping' first, because poor Geoffrey suffers terribly from small-man's syndrome!! I keep telling him that size doesn't matter, but he still needs his ego stroked as often as possible, otherwise he sulks ;0)

  12. This is just gorgeous! Love the colours and all the details. They are fascinating objects. I think I'd have gotten terribly confused and messed it all up.
