Happy New-Year!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and here's to a happy, healthy, creative and art filled New-Year! I wonder if, like me, you have set yourself some new goals for 2015?
Here are mine...

Manage my studio time better:
Create an appointment system where I write at the beginning of each week the times I will go in to my studio and stick to it!
During those times, switch off my computer and put my phone on to 'Do Not Disturb' mode.
Plan weekly meals in advance.

Be more productive:
Make better use of my sketchbook.
Aim to collect inspiration and ideas on a daily basis.
Complete at least two paintings per month.

Evolve (but not abandon) my style:
Allow for a more 'painterly' and 'fluid' approach.
Experiment with new techniques and mediums.

Share more frequently:
Post more regularly on my Facebook page and blog.

There -  I have said it now! So I can be held accountable!
That said, I will have to focus on my goals from the 1st of February as I will be on holiday for the last two weeks of January. So I will be completely off the blog world while I'm away.

Anyway, I will be back with another post before we go - this time I'll be sharing something completely different, so watch this space!

Happy painting all :0)

  1. Great minds think alike Sandra! Just blogged on the same subject although I didn't go into quite a much detail (I've saving that for my 2015 Creative Biz workbook which I plan to make a start on this afternoon (or I may just doze off in front of the fire instead!) Happy New Year and here's to it being a super creative one for both of us. And I hope you have a wonderful holiday (I'm not remotely jealous!!)

  2. Happy New Year, Sandra! I have been thinking about some goals for this year, one thing being: paint more because I did not much in the last two months.

    1. I know that feeling Judy... Sometimes life gets in the way! We just have to roll with it I suppose.
I have a more organized approach starting February though, so I am positive that this year things will be a lot different. Fingers crossed!

    1. Thanks Tracey!
I'm quite sure that it'll mean a fair few humdingers, but I'm also hoping that the odd effortless looking masterpiece might come out of it too... Wish me luck! My new plans start in Feb! :0)

  4. Sandra, I wish you a very happy, healthy and creative New Year, too! And I know you will keep those resolutions :) I resolve to get the dust off my sketchbook more often, too.

    1. And to you too Kathryn!
I will hold you to that! Let's make sure we both stick to it. I'm quietly confident that I will paint a lot more. Quite how they will turn out is another story, but painting miles of canvas - yes, that's what I want to do this year :0)

  5. Sandra, tell me that's a photograph and not a painting.

    Happy New Year!

I've made no Resolutions, as moving from Yorkshire to West Wales has been the best thing we ever did. A total change of lifestyle in which art has become the new EVERYDAY! Woo Hoo!

I want to try everything from portraits to fractured. From accuracy to mad abandonment.

This is going to be a great year for all of my blog-buddies of whom you were the first, and pointed the way forward for me. High-Five, Sandra!

    1. In that case John, I have plopped you back on my side bar!
I had a clean up a while back and assumed you had stopped blogging altogether! I'm sure I have missed tons! Anyway - a photo??? No - it's a painting..................... Oh, chuh, I can not lie - I'm quite sure I could spend an entire year on a painting and not get it to look quite this real! Nope, this is a photo of a tipple I was enjoying over Xmas. In February I will be experimenting a LOT more - so we can evolve together! Hurrah! :0)
