Alla Prima Cocktail Painting...

'Something for the Lady...'

There is something enormously satisfying about painting 'Alla Prima'. So much so, that I didn't even have to drink this one! ;0)

I did a watercolour sketch of this a few years back and have been meaning to do an oil version for some time. Luckily, I still have the cocktail recipe book - and of course the glass itself is quite famous on my blog as I have painted it many times!

    1. Thank you Tracey... I'm glad you like the colours. It's quite different to my usual and I think I'm going to do a whole series focusing on distortions rather than light... Watch this space!

    1. Thanks Kim. Yes, Is is different isn't it?
The glasses don't stand out as much this way, but you get to play further with distortions which I love doing :0)

    1. Thank you so much Hilda. The secret is not to paint the glass its self, but rather what is reflected in it, if that makes sense? :0)

    Gros bisous♡
