Painting of a Cocktail Glass...

Chin-Chin!

So, following my last post which shared my process,  here is the completed painting of my latest Cocktail Glass!
I do love a Cocktail..... or two ;0)

But my favourite kind are the ones littered with tacky umbrella's and cheap plastic stirring devices, overflowing with lashings of cream and chocolate sauce, then finished off nicely with a noisy, crackling sparkler!

You know the ones I mean? The ones which are hard to drink without:

a) Stabbing myself in the eyeball with a paper umbrella
b) Singeing my eyebrows off
c) Thinking I am actually Celine Dion
d) Putting on ten pounds

Ooh... that gives me an idea for my next one! Painting a sparkler could be quite fun!!
Cheers everyone!

  1. This looks fantastic and I'd love to see your version of one of those flamboyant cocktails! Back in my days as a holiday rep in the Algarve we used to drink big creamy ones called Orgasms on the Beach which probably had an entire day's calories in one glass but back in our 20s we burnt it off easy enough! Not sure I could even stomach them now!

    1. Oh yes, those ones are my absolute favorites! Though it's slightly embarrassing asking the barman for one of those, or worse still, more than one! ;0)

  4. Salut! That's a great painting of a cocktail! I want to reach through the canvas and snatch it! I can't say that I drink martinis much but I do enjoy a lovely frou frou drink now and then. If I'm not enjoying a glass of wine then I'm usually snagging some sort of frosty confection. Usually ones topped with various fruits and possibly sporting an umbrella. Sadly the umbrella is never large enough to grab the wind and fly me to some tropical island (preferably one occupied by buff scantily clad men) that is better suited for enjoying such a drink. One can dream though...

  13. Another stunning 'glass' portrait. And may I say how much I like the new tagline for your blog .... "Painter of ...". It doesn't seem 5-minutes since you were in the clutches of your tutor and unsure of what direction to move in. Now look at you. You're an inspiration. ;-)

It seems so long ago now... Leaving my course was the best decision I ever made as I'm quite sure I wouldn't still be painting if I had carried on with it :0)
