"I am
but 100 years old", said one bear to the other.
"Really?
My word!" replied other bear to one. "Hold still bear... we really must
measure ones body in that hole".
'Thread Bear' "20 x 24" Oil on Canvas Board |
...The
thing about being a bear - is that no matter how old one gets, one simply
becomes even more marvellous!
And now I am seeking out some new treasures for bear number 7!
And while we're on the subject of bears, the new owners of 'Sherlock' kindly sent me this photograph.
Here he is, framed and hanging on their wall.
I was so thrilled to receive it! I think he looks just gorgeous :0)
So, what's on your easel right now?
I always look forward to your next painting and you never disappoint. Nice to see 'Sherlock' has a good warm home. ! BJ
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the new composition of bears.
The dialogue established between the two is fundamental to the work climate. When I paint a navy'm "hearing" the sea, its waves and the din of seabirds!
a hug
What a beautiful post, Sandra! I must remember only to get more marvelous as I get older!!! And Sherlock looks so handsome hanging on his new friends' wall. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Sandra! And Sherlock looks great!

ReplyDeleteLovely to see Sherlock framed and hanging! Must warm the cockles .. :) xx
I have found that as I grow older, one loses one's marbles, and that can knock the stuffing out of one. Fortunately one can find them again in a button tin.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, Sandra :0)) and I love the framed picture - that must make you feell really happy.
Stay warm!
Wow i bet it feels so good when somebody takes the time to do that. I love the way you are so emershed in your work each painting becomes so much a part of you.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, what a beautiful post. Very nice dialogue between the two bears, an original and very effective presentation. Great painting, the play of lights and shadows is absolutely lovely. Hugs!

ReplyDeletesuch wonderful bears and so very loved.. beautiful work. love,Diana
ReplyDeleteI love this new piece and how you've cleverly managed to incorporate your love of shiny reflections in the little buttons into this bear piece! Sherlock looks wonderful-the frame is perfect and how lovely for them to take the time to show you him in situ.
ReplyDeleteOne Bear says "So who's the chick with the brushes"? Other Bear replies "I'm not sure but she keeps staring at me". One Bear looks thoughful and then adds "Do you remember Sherlock? Well he used to hang out in here but then he got taken away. I think he was framed". Other Bear said "I guess it's the luck of the 'draw' because Archibalding came in here for a while and was given a huge decanter of wine".
ReplyDeleteLove the painting Sandra and Sherlock looks great!!!
Your bears are marvellous Sandra! I love every detail of this beautiful painting. Very adorable! Have a nice weekend:)
ReplyDeleteoh my, Sandra, this is really clever and true! love it. of course your technique is one that has been mastered. love the light on his arm.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great concept of a thread-bare bear with a tin of button eyes. Lovely painting.
ReplyDeleteSherlock looks fab in his new home.
Your painting brought back memories. I have a bear very similar to the one on the left ; ) I wore all the fur off and the hole where the music box used to be has been stitched up a million times. I obviously loved it to bits. Sherlock looks great! A very well-suited frame for the painting. Always nice to see : )
