It's that time of year when SO many people are coughing and sneezing all over the place.
Everything from the Common Cold, to Man Flu and now an outbreak of the Norovirus!
So far, we have managed to escape this soup of winter germs - Oo-er, I hope I haven't jinxed it!
Anyway, one remedy for cold and flu symptoms is of course the 'Hot Toddy' - a mixture of Whisky, honey and lemon.
I'm not a Whisky drinker, but I have had a Hot Toddy a few times before when I've had a cold and it definitely helps!
Okay, so this painting is clearly not a Hot Toddy, but it is a Vodka cocktail with a chilli garnish. So what better name for it than a 'Hot Voddy'? as cleverly thought up by moi ;0)
So, would I drink it? ...Um, no!!
Well, would you??
Ready to hang at the local pub |
I've got another plain glass painting coming up, but then I'm intending to do some more like this, with some colourful garnishes.
Oh yes - and of course the new bear is ready to post as soon as I have a good photo - so watch this space! :0)
Anyway, enough about me - how about you? What are you painting right now?
I love your hot voddy (& clever name!) another gorgeous painting but, no, I wouldn't fancy drinking it. Nor a hot toddy actually-I'll never understand how folk can drink whiskey-it's like paint stripper (I imagine!)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting, Sandra!!!
ReplyDeleteAt one time, I worked with a delightful dentist. We all, including his wife, called him the Mad Hungarian, in fondness not disparagement. He told me about the Hungarian hat cure for flu. You prop a hat at the end of your bed, go to bed with your choice of hot alcoholic beverage, and keep drinking till you see TWO hats at the bottom of your bed. I have never tried this one. :)
I LOOOOVEEEE this!!! I think that might just keep the germs away. It is gorgeous!!! And so beautifully presented. I can't stand it when artists don't finish off the sides of the canvases, especially when they pay for the deep ones. This is gorgeous!

I always wondered what exactly a hot toddy was - and I love the splash of red in your hot voddy! Hope you continue to avoid all those nasty winter ills and don't need it for medicinal purposes!
ReplyDeleteSus trabajos hiperrealistas, son admirables, me gustarĂa saber cuanto tiempo le lleva hacer una obra como esta, felicitaciones!
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeletethe painting has the quality and the reason was always very well chosen: drink with pepper! It was great!
a hug
I am visiting your blog after a looong time and see that I have missed a lot. The glasses are looking so real! The hot voddy is very refreshing!

ReplyDeleteI think I will paint some snow tomorrow :)
hot voddy :) great ... can see more hot voddies sandra in different formats ...
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, your glass of "hot voddy" is absolutely gorgeous. For me it is a period of low inspiration, I'm waiting for it to finish and get back the desire to paint..... A hug!
ReplyDeleteWith the bad cold I have had I just might have given it a try. Great painting. I have had a few toddies in my time without the lemon but the honey and a little hot lemonade.
ReplyDeletekeep those germs at bay!! this is certainly a good way to do it! i think this is one of my very favorites of yours and i know i say that a lot but this is outstanding work sandra! your glass work is incredible, and i'm so looking forward to seeing more.

take care my friend and thank you again.
What a lovely painting Sandra, and a perfect addition to your 'collection'. Fabulous!!! Of course, I prefer the 'proper' toddy, preferably without the honey and lemon. Hic!! Not getting any art done at the moment but I hope to get back to it soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely painting, Sandra.
ReplyDeleteI'll leave the drinkers to vote on the taste, I much prefer a hot chocolate :) xx
