WIP Complete...

If you are one of my regular readers, you may remember my recent post of the unfinished cat (Flopsy) that I had been asked to draw for my Sisters friend.

Well, I didn't touch it again until yesterday, but now I have finished the cat and it is in its frame ready to go tomorrow.

Here it is in its mount...

I don't usually post the same thing twice, but I think it's nice to see a work in progress once it's all finished!

I would just like to say a huge thank you and welcome, by the way, to my new followers too! I seem to have built up quite a collection and I am grateful to each one of you for showing an interest.

  1. This is beautiful in a frame. It reminds me of my cat Shanti. She is a calico also. How sweet a gift. I like to post progress too. Your welcome, and thank you for following my blog. i enjoy hearing your thoughts. take care.

  2. I love it Sandra, such a sweet face on this kitty :) And I REALLY like the colors you've used in the fur, it's fantastic! It looks so nice all mounted and framed! It's kind of amazing what a difference that makes isn't it?

I love your blog Sandra, it's one of my favorites, I enjoy every single one of your posts. And you are just an amazing person and a great friend :) Look at all those people who love you!

  3. Sandra, one of your best! The fur looks very real, and so colorful, looks very nice with the frame too.

  4. Congratulations Sandra, this cat is symply fantastic! Bravissima!

  5. This looks so good now that it is finished and framed. Much kudos for this one.
(For a minute, I thought you had added a background in the framed version, but it is the reflection in the glass)

  6. thanks for visiting my blog and your comment. the cat is really cute! Great use of pastels!I am amazed at the great variety of mediums you have been using...very impressive collection.

  9. Melanie - Thank you so much. It's amazing how a frame can really make a picture :0)

Crystal - Thank you! I really was SO touched by your lovely comment. It means a great deal, so thank you! :0)

Padmaja - Thank you. I was surprised just how many colours there were in the fur, including blues and purples too! I try to keep this blog mainly about sketching, but it's nice to share my finished drawings too.:0)

Tito - Thank you. I can almost hear your lovely accent when I read your comments - and I love that word - 'Bravissima'! Thank you for using it to describe my drawing! :0)

Frank - Thank you. Yes, I see what you mean about the reflections. Somewhere in there is a little bit of me! You can also see part of the French Doors in the hallway, which I posted some time ago in watersolouble pen! :0)

Sparrowhawk - Thank you. I have been trying everything! So far the only thing I haven't enjoyed is oil pastels - and though I love watercolours, I am still finding them tricky :0)

Sue - Thank you. I thought I should show the finished pice. Its amazing how such little finishing touches make such a difference :0)

Jane - thank you. I had never met the cat before and only has a photograph to go by - but it's amazing how much easier I found the drawing once I was told Flopsy's name. As odd as it sounds, somehow I felt a tiny bit more of a connection :0)

Thank you all so much for popping in and leaving all of these lovely and encouraging comments!
